Calzones

Ingredients

- 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped Basil
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 (14 oz) can Diced Tomatoes, drained
- Optional: 1 lb Sausage, cooked & drained
- Optional: 1 pkg Pepperoni, chopped
- 2 cans French Loaf Bread
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Water
- Garlic Salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

If you want to add sausage, cook first.
If you want to add pepperoni, chop now.

In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. (add sausage and pepperoni at this time if desired)

Roll out bread dough on wax paper. Cut into 3-inch strips and then into 3-inch squares.

Spoon cheese mixture into the center of the dough square. Top with a teaspoon of diced tomatoes. Brush edges with water and fold dough over. Press edges with a fork to seal. Place on a greased cookie sheet.

In a small glass, combine egg and water. Brush top of dough with egg mixture. Sprinkle with garlic salt.

Bake at 425 for 8 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with marinara sauce if desired.
