Butter Cookie

Ingredients

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter; gradually add powdered sugar, beating at a medium speed until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg, vanilla, almond extract, and food coloring; beat until blended.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  4. Spoon dough into a pastry bag and pipe mixture into shapes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

I make hearts for Valentine's, Easter eggs for Easter, stars for the 4th of July or Christmas, pumpkins for Halloween, and Christmas trees for Christmas. Just use your imagination!
