Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder or 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 4 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 yellow onion, cut into wedges
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 6 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 6 tbsp honey

In a large resealable plastic bag, combine flour, 1/4 cup sesame seeds, pepper, five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes.

Place a few pieces of chicken at a time into the bag.

Shake to coat. Remove, set aside on platter, and repeat until all chicken is coated.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Place chicken into skillet and brown on both sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove chicken, set aside.

Place onion wedges and bell pepper in skillet, cook until slightly browned, about 2 minutes.

Return chicken to skillet, reduce heat to low.

Combine teriyaki sauce, remaining 1/4 cup sesame seeds, and honey.

Pour into skillet with chicken, onions, and peppers; stir until sauce thickens.

Serve and enjoy!
