South of the Border Mix

Ingredients

- 6 TB butter
- 1 pkg dry taco seasoning
- 1 TB Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp hot pepper sauce
- 1 cup peanuts
- 8 cups Rice, Corn or Wheat Chex
- 1 cup broken pretzel pieces
- 1 cup Cheez-Its
- 2 TB cheese powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

  2. In a large glass bowl, melt butter in microwave.

  3. Stir in taco seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper sauce.

  4. Gradually add Chex, pretzels, peanuts, and Cheez-Its; stirring to coat evenly.

  5. Pour onto a large baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

  7. Spread on absorbent paper to cool.

  8. Sprinkle with cheese powder, if desired.

  9. Store in an airtight container.
