Let corn thaw in refrigerator overnight or rinse with warm water to thaw quickly.
With a large knife, cut corn off cob. Scrape edge of cob with knife blade to clean the cob of all kernels.
In a large saucepan, add corn, butter, milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring often.
When corn begins to boil, lower temperature and let cook for about 30 minutes.
