Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Add salt and baking soda.
For chocolate chip cookies, add 3 cups flour. Mix well. Add 12 oz pkg of chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped nuts (optional).
For white chocolate/macadamia nut cookies, add 3 cups flour. Mix well. Add 12 oz pkg white chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts.
For oatmeal/almond/cranberry cookies, add 1 1/2 cups flour and 3 cups old-fashioned oats. Mix well. Add 6 oz pkg of sliced almonds and 6 oz pkg of craisins (dried cranberries).
For chocolate chocolate chip cookies, add 2 1/2 cups flour and 1/2 cup cocoa powder. Mix well. Add 12 oz pkg chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped pecans (optional).
