Lemon Poppy Seed Puffs

Ingredients

- 8 oz pkg Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cup Sugar (divided into 1/2 cup and 3/4 cup)
- 2 tsps grated lemon peel
- 1 TB Lemon Juice
- 2 TB Poppy Seed
- 2 (16.3 oz) cans Pillsbury Grands Biscuits or smaller Biscuits*
- 1/2 cup Butter, melted

Instructions

Created on October 22nd, 2007

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup of the sugar, 1 tsp of the lemon peel, and 1 TB lemon juice; mix well.

In another mixing bowl, combine 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 tsp of the lemon peel, and 2 TB poppy seed.

Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut side of biscuit open to form an opening.

Fill each opening with 2 rounded TB of the cream cheese mixture. *If using smaller biscuits, use only 1 TB of cream cheese mixture.

Press edges firmly to seal.

Dip filled biscuit into melted butter; coat with poppy seed mixture.

Place in ungreased muffin cups.

Bake at 375 degrees for 13 - 17 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

Cool for 10 minutes.

Run knife around edge to loosen puff; remove.

Serve warm and enjoy!
